--> When we are working with Cisco routers, we can get lot of information even without doing console or telnet or ssh to the router.
--> We can get so much of Information just by checking the LED's of the router.
--> LED's are available in two places on the Router.
1) Front Panel of the Router
i) If the LED is solid green means the router is working properly and it is powered on
ii) If the LED is Blinking green means the router is booting up or initializing,
iii) If the LED is off means the router is not powered on.
2) Activity
i) If the LED is blinking or solid green means packets are passing through the router
ii)If the LED is off means no packets are passing through the router.
3) Power Over Ethernet
i) If the LED is solid green means IP phones are getting the power.
ii)If the LED is Amber means IP phones are not getting the power.
4) Redundant Power Supply (External Power Supply not Internal)
i) If the LED is solid green means the router is running via external power supply
ii)If the LED is off means the router is running via internal power supply.
5) Power Supply
i) If the LED is solid green means power supply is providing the power to the router.
ii) If the LED is Amber means power supply is not providing the power to the router.
2) Back Panel of the Router
Back Panel of the Router will be having LED's like Console, Fast Ethernet and many more depending upon the router.....
